Need a little info about tv tuners?

I don't know much about tv tuners, so any help would be much appreciated. - Do you have to hook it up to your cable or are they wireless? -Can I watch all of my cable channels on my laptop? - How much do they usually cost? - Do I need any extra software or will Windows Movie Viewer work? 1. Tuners are usually hooked up to cable or off air antennas if the off air antenna has the wrong type of connection you can get one at radio shack it would be called 300 to 75 ohm transformer. You can install a tuner via the usb port. They are a little pricey in some cases. Normally you order the tuner when you buy the lap top it is built in. Normally the software comes with the tuner you buy. If you are lucky the tuner will work with other software like windows media center etc. ATI all in wonder series does all tv functions including recording, I do not know if they have a usb version. Hauppauge has tuners also.
